When it holds its annual conference this September, HubSpot will go for big laughs.
The marketing and sales software company has snagged comedian Amy Schumer — whose meteoric rise has put her at the top of the comedy world as of late — to headline its Inbound conference this fall.
A New York native, the 34-year-old Schumer placed fourth in the fifth season of the NBC reality show “Last Comic Standing” and has appeared in “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Girls,” and “30 Rock.” She is the star, writer, and producer of the Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer.” This summer, she’ll be starring alongside Bill Hader in the Judd Apatow-directed “Trainwreck,” which she also wrote.
HubSpot has a history of convincing the rich and famous to speak at its signature event each year. Last year, the keynote speakers included New Yorker writer Malcolm Gladwell and Martha Stewart.
Alongside Schumer, the 2015 keynote speakers include author Seth Godin, researcher Brene Brown, Jonah Peretti, CEO of Buzzfeed, Sophia Amoruso, founder and owner of Nastygal, author Daniel Pink, and HubSpot co-founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah.
Schumer will back in Boston at least once before Hubspot’s September 8-11 event. She’ll perform at the Wilbur on June 13 and 14 as a part of the “Trainwreck Tour,” along with comedians Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Apatow, and Mike Birbiglia.
