Boston-based Gameface Media announced a partnership today with adventure race company Tough Mudder that will make all photos of racers participating in the events free.
Gameface connects with companies to sponsor race photos, creating a unique advertising opportunity for brands who want to connect with amateur athletes and their social media connections. Recently, Gameface worked with nutritional supplement company MET-Rx to sponsor the photos at a recent Tough Mudder.
Gameface reports that from that one event, competitor photos shared on social media generated 712,000 Facebook impressions and brought 11,000 unique visitors to the MET-Rx Facebook page.
Tough Mudder holds more than 60 of its adventure races a year in seven different countries. The opportunity for Gameface to connect brands with Tough Mudder’s huge number of participants (1.5 million throughout the world) is exactly what has attracted brands like Warrior, Jeep, Wheaties, and more.
Last week, Gameface Media announced that it had raised $2.5 million in funding from a group of individual investors.
