Davis left his position as CTO of VMware’s storage and end-user computing divisions to take the job with Infinio. He had been with VMware since 2007.

Davis takes over as CTO for Infinio co-founder Vishal Misra, who has moved to the newly created role of chief scientist (Misra is also a computer science professor at Columbia University).

Founded in 2011, Infinio is backed by $24 million in funding from investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Highland Capital Partners, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The firm’s chief executive and co-founder is Arun Agarwal, a former executive at Endeca, and Infinio’s chairman is Endeca founder Steve Papa.
