During the first quarter of the year, Internet and digital media companies in the Boston area added 375 jobs for a 2.2 percent gain, according to a new report from executive search firm Cook Associates.
Some of the top hirers are who you might expect — Wayfair, Care.com, Amazon, HubSpot, and Google round out the top five.
But also in the top 10 are some more surprising names — Monster, the job listing site that had previously been cutting staff locally in recent years, and Scvngr, maker of the LevelUp mobile payment app, which has struggled to catch on nationally.
Hiring statistics for each company aren’t being provided by Cook Associates.
Other top hirers in Boston tech during the first quarter included Constant Contact, Carbonite, Demandware, Nanigans, Localytics, and DraftKings.
The pace of tech hiring in Boston is up slightly from the fourth quarter of last year but down from the 3.5 percent job gain of the same period a year earlier, according to Cook Associates.
