“Joining twitter. OMG.”
That’s how Mike Troiano, aka @miketrap, jokingly began his tweeting career in mid-2007, which so far has consisted of more than 11,000 tweets in total.
On Thursday, Twitter’s eighth birthday, the site debuted first-tweets.com to take you back to your earliest 140-character endeavor (or back to someone else’s if you wish).
I pulled some handles from Intelligent.ly’s Boston Influencers Twitter list and plugged them into the new site. The results are below. Many of the tweets, of course, were done at a time when no one really knew what Twitter was supposed to be for, including Twitter’s founders themselves — who each tweeted “just setting up my twttr” to get things started.
(As for my first tweet, ICYW, it was a re-tweet.)
